Frequently Asked Questions

How does Clean Up+ find duplicate photos?
Clean Up+ uses advanced image analysis to compare photos pixel-by-pixel and identify exact duplicates. It also uses perceptual hashing to find similar photos that may have slight differences in resolution or compression.
Are my photos deleted permanently?
No, deleted photos are moved to the "Recently Deleted" album in your Photos app, where they remain for 30 days before being permanently removed. You can recover them anytime within this period.
Why does the app need photo library access?
Clean Up+ requires access to your photo library to scan, analyze, and help you manage your photos. We never upload your photos to any server - all processing happens locally on your device.
How does video compression work?
Video compression re-encodes your videos using efficient H.264/HEVC codecs at optimized bitrates. This significantly reduces file size while maintaining good visual quality. Original videos are only deleted after you confirm.
What's the difference between free and premium?
Free users can find duplicates, similar photos, and screenshots. Premium unlocks blurry photo detection, large file finder, old photos cleanup, video/photo compression, and contact management.
How do I restore my premium purchase?
Go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Why is my storage shown differently than in Settings?
Clean Up+ displays storage using the same calculation as Apple's Settings app, showing your device's marketed capacity (e.g., 256 GB). Minor differences may occur due to timing of when storage is measured.
